Aluminium guttering from ARP is featured on a number of new-build nursery buildings for Aberdeen City Council.
The new facilities across the district are part of the Council’s commitment to increase and improve early years facilities. North of Scotland’s leading roofing and cladding contractor Fowler McKenzie has chosen ARP’s aluminium guttering systems for the projects for its good looks and longevity, backed by the company’s technical assistance and project management.
With the free annual provision of early learning and childcare hours nearly doubling under a Scottish Government initiative to support child development, the eight new and upgraded nurseries for Aberdeen City Council will provide high-quality facilities and the capacity to meet demand in the city.
In a programme incorporating twenty-seven Early Learning Centres, priority is given to three main areas with the highest proportion of preschool children. Phase 1 included three new builds, refurbishment, and reconfiguration work to five nurseries.
Aluminium guttering was selected for the projects for its good looks and maintenance-free longevity.
Fowler McKenzie chose to work with ARP because of the service support the company offers.

ARP offers a full design and specification support service, including site visits, flow calculations, design advice and CAD drawings.
Bespoke aluminium guttering based on ARP’s Legion system was made specifically to order in RAL 7016 anthracite grey to feature on eight new and refurbished nurseries across the Granite City.
Legion is a high-quality pressed aluminium gutter system with a modern box profile that suits well for contemporary structures such as this installation. It is manufactured at ARP’s UK plant from high-strength aluminium sheet and ARP can make bespoke Legion profiles as applicable, including radiused bends and special fittings.
Like all aluminium guttering systems, it is lightweight and easy to install and can last for 40years+ with minimal maintenance. Perfect for one-off and special projects, ARP Legion can be provided in any RAL colour to add to its bespoke design credentials.
Through recent restructuring and increased investment within its powder coating facilities, ARP has significantly increased its capacity to meet customer demand. Current lead times have been reduced in many cases to 5-7 days with those for bespoke works amongst the best in the industry.
