Littlebury Green
When an architect specified an unusual colour for soffits and guttering for a residential project in Littlebury Green on the Essex / Sussex borders, contractor Monro Seamless was able to supply and install aluminium, gutters, downpipes, fascia and soffit from ARP all powder-coated in a subtle heritage moss grey / green colour to match exactly.
The houses feature ARP’s 125mm Sentinel beaded half round guttering, Colonnade 76mm cast aluminium downpipes and Trueline fascias and soffits, all powder coated at ARP’s Leicester manufacturing unit in RAL7003M – a heritage-style moss grey – to make the architect’s vision for the property come to life. One of the beauties of aluminium building products is that they can be powder coated to match exactly any colour imaginable. ARP’s guttering systems are available in seventeen popular colours as standard but can also be powder coated to any RAL colour to match or contrast with the building’s construction.
“The architect specified aluminium specifically for the colour options it offers,” says Kim Monro from Monro Seamless, the contractor that installed the guttering, fascias and soffits. “It was not possible to find plastic guttering in the right colour so we opted for ARP aluminium guttering and fascia to match. ARP arranged for me to visit a similar project to see how the system worked because, as a joiner, I was unfamiliar with aluminium fascias. The system went together really well and looked really smart – with the added bonus that, unlike wooden fascia, it requires no ongoing maintenance to preserve its good looks.”
ARP manufactured 125mm Sentinel beaded half round guttering with a heritage finish for Littlebury Green which was complemented with ARP’s cast aluminium Colonnade downpipes. ARP’s cast aluminium rainwater products are traditionally sand cast from aluminium alloy in traditional profiles, sizes and textures to give the full visual effect and aesthetics of cast iron. Colonnade downpipes, with traditional-style collars and ears make the perfect style choice for heritage projects but, in line with today’s environmental standards, are 100% recyclable.
ARP can manufacture Trueline fascia and soffits to exact project dimensions from high tensile sheets. It can be used behind architectural guttering, or to form an integrated eaves/soffit feature incorporating concealed guttering. Trueline fascia and soffit range of components are available in a variety of girths from 250mm upwards and in a number of different profiles. During their long 40+ year lifespan, ARP soffits and fascia systems require minimal maintenance.
