Leaking Gutters?
Problem solved
TWENTY- FIVE years ago plastic gutters leaked, cracked, faded and warped – and the same is true today.
Many householders have suffered damage to their properties and related maintenance issues due to water damage caused by leaking plastic gutters.
As with many good product ideas, the solution to this problem originated in North America in the harsh extremes of the Canadian climate.
Today, more than 90 per cent of gutters fitted to houses in the USA are based on aluminium systems and the product is rapidly gaining popularity in the UK.
The Mustang system is owned by ARP, in Leicester, and is available through more than 100 approved installers throughout the UK.
Steve Dann, Managing Director of ARP said “each installer will fit and install a made-to measure gutter solution for your property which may also include new fascia, soffit and downpipes to complete the roofline. There are a range of five pre-painted colours to choose from which will compliment most house colour schemes.”
Not only does Aluminium look better without any visible brackets or joints but it is also an environmentally friendly product.
More than 90% of the Mustang Gutter System is made from recycled materials and the aluminium is produced with the clean energy of hydro electric power.
The life expectancy of a newly fitted mustang gutter is more than 25 years – and what’s more, during that time it will not need repainting.
But do not rely on your installer to tell you how good the system is; it has been independently verified by the BBA.
The BBA is an independent body that tests and certifies products in the construction industry to ensure they meet stringent quality standards.
Steve Dann, MD of ARP explains: “Most plastic gutters have a relatively short life span before they start to leak and crack and this is likely to get worse as more extreme weather events occur more often”.
Mustang Gutters have no joints and can cope with a greater rainfall capacity. Aluminium is a far stronger material and does not need replacing for at least a generation
Overall, aluminium is a far more robust and cost effective solution for the householder – and it looks better too.
ARP receive a growing number of enquiries from householders seeking a better guttering solution.
They are pleased to provide people with details of Mustang approved installers in their area.
